Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes how Vedansh Vijayvargia (“I”, “me”), the operator of codersuniverse.com (the “Site”), collects, uses, and protects information from visitors. The Site is operated from Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
1. Information I collect
1.1 Information you submit directly
- Contact form: name, email, optional website, optional service interest, and the message you send. This data is stored in a MySQL database hosted on Hostinger so I can reply to your inquiry.
- AI chatbot widget: the messages you type are sent to a Large Language Model provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) to generate a reply. If you choose to leave your email through the chat, that email and message are also saved to the same contact database.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser user agent, page requested, timestamp). These are kept for security and abuse prevention.
- First-party visit analytics: an anonymous cookie (
cu_visit) and a log of pages viewed (path, referrer, browser type, approximate IP, and approximate location such as country/region/city inferred from the IP address on the server). Visitors are not asked for location permission — this is not GPS. Data is stored in my Hostinger database to understand which areas use the site. No Google Analytics is required for this. - Cookies for: (a) PHP session (essential — used for the CSRF token and rate limiting), (b) your dark-mode preference (functional), (c) the anonymous visit cookie above (analytics), and (d) optional advertising cookies if you accept the cookie banner.
2. How I use this information
- To reply to project inquiries and provide the services you ask about.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site (analytics, performance).
- To prevent abuse, spam, and brute-force attacks against the Site.
- To comply with applicable law (India — Information Technology Act 2000, Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023).
3. Third-party services
The Site uses the following third-party services. Each handles data under its own privacy policy:
- Hostinger — web hosting and MySQL database. Hostinger privacy policy.
- Anthropic / OpenAI — large language model API used to generate chatbot replies. Messages you type into the chat are sent to the provider for generation.
- Google Fonts & Fontshare — font delivery. Your IP address is visible to these providers.
- Google AdSense (if enabled) — serves contextual advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies based on your prior visits to this and other websites to serve ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising at www.google.com/settings/ads.
- First-party analytics — page views stored on Hostinger (see section 1.2). Data stays on my hosting account; not sold to third parties.
4. Cookies
I use cookies only as described above. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time, but the contact form will not work without the essential session cookie because the CSRF token relies on it.
5. AdSense & advertising
If advertising is active on the Site, Google — as a third-party vendor — uses cookies to serve ads. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
6. Data retention
Contact form submissions are kept for as long as is reasonably required to handle the inquiry and follow-on work, and then deleted on request. Server logs are typically rotated within 30 days.
7. Your rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of any personal data I hold about you by emailing ved02vijay@gmail.com. Under the Indian DPDP Act 2023 and (where applicable) the EU GDPR, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
8. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Security
I use HTTPS, CSRF tokens, prepared SQL statements, server-side input validation, and per-session rate limiting to protect data. However, no transmission method over the internet is 100% secure.
10. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
